In this unit, learn to:

Start a phone conversion when calling or answering a phone call using
"喂,你在干嘛呢?". It is an informal way to say, " What are you doing? "
喂 should be pronounced in an up tone, is often used to start your phone conversion.

Express an action a person is doing in progress using grammatical structure of
Subject + “在” + verb-object form + 呢
Examples
我在看电视呢 I’m watching TV
他在打电话呢 He is making a phone call
我们在吃中国菜呢 We’re eating Chinese food
Chinese Vocabulary and Writing
The Chinese vocabulary and writing section introduces new Chinese vocabulary you need to know in order to understand the language. For each new vocabulary, you learn what it means, how to pronounce and write it.
Having a good vocabulary will help you improve your language level and become a more confident speaker of Mandarin. Practising Chinese writing is often one of the best ways to improve your vocabulary.
